About the position

Briotix Health is seeking a 1099 Independent Contractor for our Ergonomist position! If you have training or certification in Ergonomics, education as an Athletic Trainer, Kinesiologist, Ergonomist, Occupational Therapist and/or Physical Therapist, you thrive in a people-focused environment, and are great at working autonomously - you could be a terrific fit for this role! An Ergonomist is responsible for providing world-class onsite ergonomic assessments, technical consultation, behavioral job coaching and ergonomic-related intervention services to the clients of Briotix Health. With the help of their Team Supervisor, the Ergonomist will coordinate with the client to develop and maintain a successful and engaging program that will result in a more efficient, productive, healthy, and safe workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site Ergonomic services at a variety of client site locations in the Monterey, CA region.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships between Briotix Health and client contacts.
  • Initiate and establish professional and engaging relationships with client employees.
  • Collect, aggregate, and analyze program data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate availability with Briotix Health and client representatives to schedule ongoing or as-needed onsite or virtual assessments.
  • Seek solutions to program problems and identify ways to add value and improve efficient process engineering.
  • Prepare Ergonomic Desk Assessment (EDA) reports using virtual tools.
  • Assist with implementing Intervention Services (ErgoMed).
  • Conduct worksite assessments to improve body mechanics and implement micro-break programs.
  • Function as client's primary point-of-contact and provide program management support when appropriate and in collaboration with Briotix Health key stakeholders.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and program materials.
  • Advocate for program adoptions and utilization across constituent groups.
  • Travel as needed when requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently have or willing to obtain liability insurance.
  • Education in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or related field.
  • Appropriate certifications and/or state licenses in good standing in each state where team member provides service.
  • Current CPR Certification CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, BLS Healthcare Provider, or equivalent certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of body mechanics.
  • Training or certifications in ergonomics or related experience required.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of ergonomics or occupational health & safety preferred.
  • 1-2 years of industrial/occupational experience in injury prevention or ergonomics preferred.
  • CEAS levels 1, 2, and/or 3 preferred.
  • Must meet the physical demands of on-site work needs; ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and or squatting.
