About The Position

The Equipment Technician will be responsible for safely cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment and maintaining appropriate par levels for each department. The technician will perform their duties safely and satisfactorily, with other duties potentially assigned. This role requires the ability to stand for long periods, respond to staff inquiries, clean and disinfect equipment using approved methods, manage inventory levels, adhere to hospital policies and infection control, acquire supplies, operate a pushcart, maintain the work area, report incidents, comply with safety regulations, stop at-risk behavior, work collaboratively, perform repetitive tasks, maintain a clean workspace, follow all protocols, take direction, communicate professionally, fill in during staff shortages, support shift leads, use proper PPE, present professionally, and understand customer service and reporting systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to read inventory forms
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
  • Completed all safety and task training certification

Responsibilities

  • Walk and or stand for long periods of time
  • Answer and respond to phone calls and emails from hospital staff
  • Appropriately clean and disinfect medical equipment using the approved disinfectant
  • Able to read par sheets and inventory levels
  • Adhere to hospital policies and infection control processes
  • Obtain supplies via Stock Acquisition Process
  • Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
  • Operate pushcart for transporting equipment
  • Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
  • Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Stop at risk behavior of others and self
  • Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
  • Perform repetitive tasks
  • Maintain clean work area
  • Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
  • Fill in during staff shortage
  • Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
  • Use proper personal protective equipment
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction
  • Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
