About the position
The Equipment Operator at Xylem Tree Experts is responsible for the safe and effective operation of heavy equipment to remove tree branches and materials from electrical lines. This role involves assisting in daily operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety practices are followed while working in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.
- Assist in preparing equipment and materials for daily work as directed by the Foreperson.
- Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
- Assist other crew members in daily activities and take a leadership role when required.
- Clean up and dispose of all debris after operations.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, and markers to protect employees and the public.
- Stay informed on new equipment, specifications, and standard practices.
- Track and report mileage to the Foreperson.
- Perform duties for storm work as needed.
- Submit daily reporting using the AMS system for timesheets and billing information.
- Maintain above-standard customer relations.
- Report accidents as necessary.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in Vegetation Management.
- Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment used.
- Ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
