About the position
The Equipment Operator II position at Sabre Industries involves operating an all-terrain forklift to manage materials in accordance with shipping procedures and customer requirements. The role emphasizes safety, quality assurance, and teamwork while maintaining productivity in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate an all-terrain forklift to move, locate, relocate, and stock materials.
- Verify and identify shipping items to ensure quality and condition.
- Load and unload materials safely and in an organized manner.
- Prepare materials for shipment as needed.
- Utilize small hand tools and overhead crane as required.
- Maintain knowledge of yard bin locations and shipping schedules.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Contribute to a safe working environment by ensuring quality and cleanliness.
- Cross-train to assist in various shipping duties as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of recent experience operating a 10,000+ pound capacity forklift or heavy equipment.
- Demonstrated accuracy of work and good organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with warehouse personnel and management.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping authorizations and daily ship schedules.
- Must maintain a Level B Equipment Operator Certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Valid driver's license preferred.
