About the position

The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to ensure quality control and safety. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with engineers to improve systems. The technician will work hands-on with various manufacturing tools and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and review equipment and instruments for quality control and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Perform safety tests of equipment to ensure staff safety.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and escalate issues to engineers as necessary.
  • Install modifications to existing equipment and facilities systems supporting manufacturing tools.
  • Assemble, test, and install custom manufacturing tools and equipment according to engineering drawings.
  • Install electrical components and cabinet wiring as per engineering specifications.
  • Assemble or modify ducting for air handling systems and piping for various gases and cooling water.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on standard and custom equipment and document maintenance performed.
  • Collaborate with Equipment Engineers, Process Engineers, and Operators to meet equipment requirements and improve existing systems.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as an Equipment Technician, Mechanical/Electrical Technician, or similar role.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot complex equipment safely and confidently.
  • Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and develop new technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to operate hand tools; fabrication experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with assembly and/or maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of engineering assembly drawings.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and cabinet wiring.
  • Experience with high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with roll-to-roll manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to modify engineering drawings to reflect as-built status.
