About the position

The position involves a senior level role that takes a lead position in analyzing clinical, business, and/or technical processes and problems. The individual will formulate and develop recommendations for new and modified systems that meet client and/or internal project requirements. This role requires maintaining a professional image and exhibiting excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with the organization's Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. The individual will also provide advanced technical expertise, research, analyze, design, and modify software applications, and serve as a liaison between the IT Department, vendors, and clients for multiple systems/applications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations.
  • Analyzes clinical, business, and/or technical processes and problems.
  • Formulates and develops recommendations for new and modified systems.
  • Provides advanced technical expertise beyond that of an Epic Applications Analyst I or II.
  • Researches, analyzes, designs, and modifies software applications.
  • Serves as a liaison between the IT Department, vendors, and clients.
  • Gathers and prioritizes development initiatives and activities.
  • Provides analysis of workflow and recommends solutions.
  • Provides technical/application assistance to clients and IT staff.
  • Performs financial analysis/business plan/impact assessment.
  • Manages system upgrades and large projects.
  • Develops a timeline for implementation and ensures closure of outstanding issues.
  • Functions as a lead department contact and provides project management support.
  • Completes tasks on time and meets assignment dates.
  • Ensures system changes follow change management procedures.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for assigned applications.
  • Participates in support for systems during daily operations and implementations.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation schedule for 24x7 client support.
  • Works collaboratively with IT Educators to update training plans and documentation.
  • Serves as a mentor to Epic Applications Analyst I and II.
  • Occasional travel to other offices and for training classes, implementations, and conferences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of Epic build experience.
  • Minimum of six years of computer system application modifications and support experience.
  • Minimum of six years of PC-oriented experience including basic word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Project Management experience desired.
  • Presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Epic Certification or Accreditation.
  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Healthcare/Computer Science/Business or equivalent work experience.
