This is a full-time position within the Environmental Services team, working evening shifts from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am, with rotating weekends and holidays. The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors, and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. Tasks include emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors using various equipment. The role requires demonstrating knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment to provide a clean and sterile environment. Cleaning responsibilities may extend to patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards. The technician must wear proper protective equipment, keep storage and equipment stocked, clean, and tidy, and use pagers and other technology appropriately. There may be opportunities to assist in laundry areas and use technology applications depending on location and program availability.
