About the position
The Environmental Service Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas of the hospital, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff. This part-time role involves cleaning, disinfecting, and performing maintenance on various surfaces, while also collaborating with team members to support overall service continuity.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and disinfects assigned work areas according to department procedures.
- Removes medical waste, trash, and linens.
- Performs interim and restorative maintenance of hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
- Stocks patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas with necessary supplies.
- Assembles, maintains, and stores equipment and supplies necessary for cleaning tasks.
- Communicates and collaborates with team members to ensure service continuity.
- Reports maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
- Assists visitors and employees in navigating the hospital.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in public service or customer service in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial role.
