The Environmental Lead will help drive safety in the Environmental Department and help Nucor Steel Kingman accomplish our safety goal of becoming the safest steel maker in the world. The Environmental Lead will also be responsible for day-to-day environmental responsibilities dealing with environmental compliance and operations. The Environmental Lead will be responsible for leading the Environmental Operator group. This will include developing lockouts, planning day to day work, coordinating projects, managing CEA projects. They will also help with budgeting, planning cost, and reporting expenses. The environmental lead would also help the Environmental Engineer when needed. The goal of the environmental lead is to grow leadership skills, operational and compliance knowledge, and business acumen. A successful candidate for this position will show the ability to build strong relationships with the team. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Drive safety in the Environmental Department.
  • Oversee day-to-day environmental responsibilities related to compliance and operations.
  • Lead the Environmental Operator group.
  • Develop lockouts and plan day-to-day work.
  • Coordinate projects and manage CEA projects.
  • Assist with budgeting, planning costs, and reporting expenses.
  • Support the Environmental Engineer as needed.

Requirements

  • Industrial experience on a maintenance or environmental team.
  • Water treatment experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years minimum steel mill experience.
  • 2 years minimum environmental compliance experience.
  • Baghouse (or similar emission control device) experience.
