Grand Traverse County is seeking an Environmental Health Technician to provide administrative office support and excellent customer service in the Environmental Health Office. This position will have an emphasis in either the Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control program or the Well and Septic program. The role requires significant knowledge of all Environmental Health programs and collaboration with other staff to ensure exceptional customer service and prompt processing of department and permitting functions. Each technician will be assigned a primary permitting program and cross-trained in all department functions. The Environmental Health Office manages programs including Well and Septic Permitting, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Permitting, Food Service Licensing and Inspections, Department of Health and Human Services Inspections, Public Swimming Pool inspections, Campground inspections, Body Art Licensing and Inspections, Local Beach Monitoring Reporting, and other inspections as requested.
