About the position

The EHS function at Altium Packaging is looking for a dynamic Intern to support key business initiatives and growth. We are also looking for the intern to step in and make an impact from day one. The intern experience will be designed to provide opportunities to work directly with our operations on the following potential projects: Assisting Plants with verifying and updating LOTO procedures for production equipment, performing Industrial Hygiene Assessments such as Ergonomic Assessments, implementation of Ergo improvements, Noise surveys, etc. The intern will also refresh the EHS SourcePoint Site, clean-up (document control), and update written OSHA and other EHS programs. Additionally, the intern will engage in EHS data analysis, assist plants with implementing EHS best practices and safety improvements, and support Regional Safety Managers and Project Managers with contractor safety and pre-start up safety reviews for new equipment installations.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Plants with verifying and updating LOTO procedures for production equipment
  • Performing Industrial Hygiene Assessments: Ergonomic Assessments, implementation of Ergo improvements, Noise surveys, etc.
  • Refreshing the EHS SourcePoint Site, clean-up (document control), and updating written OSHA and other EHS programs
  • Conducting EHS data analysis: Safety Observation (AMS and/or SOS) card inputs, injury trends, and other EHS data analysis as needed
  • Assisting plants with implementing EHS best practices and safety improvements; sharing lessons learned from incidents
  • Assisting Regional Safety Managers and Project Managers with contractor safety and pre-start up safety reviews for new equipment installations

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous internship or work experience in EHS or a related field
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards
  • Experience with data analysis tools or software
