About the position
The Environmental Field Chemistry Internship is aimed at students passionate about environmental sustainability. This role provides hands-on experience in environmental management, focusing on the handling and inspection of chemical waste. Interns will engage in various tasks that contribute to the company's mission of fostering a safer and cleaner environment while gaining valuable insights into the industry.
Responsibilities
- Handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste at various locations.
- Perform lab packs and household hazardous waste collections.
- Assist with lab moves.
- Prepare packing lists, labels, and manifests.
- Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations.
- Collect, segregate, and package chemical waste.
- Sample and profile new waste streams.
- Shadow various roles within the organization.
- Attend networking events.
- Complete a final project presentation.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences, etc.
- In junior or senior year of study.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
