About The Position

EPSI is seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Cleaning Supervisor to lead environmental cleanup crews responsible for cleaning trash, debris, environmental waste, and homeless encampment locations from parks, public spaces, woods, watersheds, and other assigned locations throughout the Austin area. This position requires a strong hands-on leader who can supervise crews, coordinate projects, maintain customer communication, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements. The Environmental Cleaning Supervisor will also be responsible for assessing new project locations, identifying service needs, coordinating equipment and staffing requirements, scheduling projects, and maintaining accurate operational reporting. This role requires leadership strength, professionalism, operational organization, and the ability to work with individuals who may have medical conditions, disabilities, and require accommodation. The ideal candidate must be dependable, safety-focused, customer-oriented, and capable of working in physically demanding outdoor environments while maintaining a positive and supportive team culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in environmental services, grounds maintenance, landscaping, custodial services, or related field operations.
  • Experience leading crews in outdoor operational environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with employees and customers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience operating grounds maintenance, environmental cleanup, or landscape equipment.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with scheduling systems, reporting tools, Microsoft Office, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and reliability.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and E-Verify requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, coach, mentor, and develop environmental cleanup crews across multiple project sites.
  • Lead crews in cleaning trash, debris, illegal dumping, homeless encampments, and environmental waste from public properties and watersheds.
  • Ensure all projects are completed according to contract requirements, timelines, and safety standards.
  • Transport employees using company vehicles to and from project locations throughout the Austin area.
  • Manage employee schedules, attendance, timesheets, and daily crew assignments.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, dumpsters, trailers, and disposal needs for each project.
  • Maintain strong communication with crews, management, customers, and onsite representatives throughout project execution.
  • Maintain constant communication with clients regarding project status, scheduling, operational updates, and service needs.
  • Visit new locations to assess project scope, cleanup requirements, estimated completion timelines, equipment needs, disposal requirements, and onsite coordination.
  • Evaluate project conditions and determine labor, equipment, and resource requirements necessary to complete services safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate project scheduling and operational tracking through Jobber and other company systems.
  • Ensure daily operational reporting accuracy and project documentation is completed consistently and on time.
  • Prepare and submit project completion reports upon completion of each project.
  • Create project recap presentations including before-and-after photos, cleanup progress, tonnage removed, disposal documentation, and project summaries.
  • Track and report daily operational progress, labor hours, project status, safety concerns, and production metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records for vehicle inspections, equipment usage, disposal tickets, and project documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and customer requirements.
  • Conduct jobsite safety meetings, inspections, and ongoing safety training.
  • Identify hazards and unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions immediately.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and safety violations and complete required reporting documentation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure proper use of PPE, equipment, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and accountability of assigned vehicles, trailers, equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply and equipment needs for ongoing projects.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and care for company assets and customer properties.
  • Identify opportunities for new environmental cleanup projects and service opportunities to help maintain consistent workflow for crews.
  • Support operational leadership with project evaluations, customer relationships, and service expansion opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
