About the position

The Enrollment Services Specialist at Nashua Community College provides essential clerical and customer service support to prospective and current students. This role focuses on assisting students with financial aid, admissions, registration, and payment policies, ensuring a welcoming environment for all. The specialist acts as the first point of contact for financial aid inquiries and supports students in navigating various online tools and resources. This position is vital in maintaining communication with the financial aid office and contributing to recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a welcoming environment for all students and guests of the college.
  • Assists prospective and current students with basic financial aid, billing policies and processes, admissions, and registration.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for student financial aid inquiries and handles all financial aid inquiries addressed to the college website and dedicated voicemail.
  • Assists students with the completion of the FAFSA and other required forms and provides assistance on the proper usage of Web tools including but not limited to SIS, email, online payment plans, FAFSA and Canvas.
  • Advises students, families, and the college community about certain financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the onboarding of students who receive a Federal Work Study award.
  • Regularly communicates with CCSNH financial aid office and maintains currency with federal and system financial aid policies and practices.
  • Assists in the processing of admissions documents and information.
  • Assists with recruitment efforts including scheduling High School visits, organizing and scheduling program information sessions; maintaining promotional materials, mailings, post cards, letters to applicants; and engaging in outreach efforts with applicants through letters, phone calls, email, text, etc.
  • Maintains and updates database of current and potential students.
  • Attends workshops, seminars, and conferences for professional development.
  • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from a recognized college or university.
  • Two years' experience in a business and/or education environment with experience in administrative or technical support, providing information to others and/or customer service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an academic institution.
