About the position

The Enhancement Landscape Laborer at BrightView is responsible for executing small-scale landscaping operations and maintaining the grounds and landscape of commercial properties. This role involves a variety of tasks related to plant care, lawn maintenance, and the operation of landscaping equipment, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality of outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform plant removal and replanting of lawn areas.
• Convert lawn areas to planters or vice versa.
• Replace broken sidewalks and lay mow strips.
• Mulch, prune, and plant trees as needed.
• Serve as backup for interior landscaping maintenance and gardening tasks.
• Utilize garden tools such as rakes, shovels, and picks.
• Dig trenches and set up cement forms for sidewalk replacement.
• Operate lawn maintenance equipment including a 36" mower and blower.
• Water plants, lawns, and gardens as required.
• Apply fertilizer according to scheduled use and application standards.
• Remove materials from overhead racks on the truck and transport them to various sites.

Requirements

• 6 months of commercial landscape experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of proper water application and penetration techniques.
• Current driver's license is required.
• Ability to adjust and regulate sprinkler heads and prepare forms for cement pours.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to work with cement in preparing for pours and finishing procedures.
• Ability to operate a truck with a trailer for loading and unloading equipment.
• Physical ability to stand for 5 minutes, walk for 2 hours, and sit for 30 minutes consecutively.
• Ability to lift and carry tools and materials weighing up to 20 pounds over a distance of 50 feet.
• Ability to handle items such as plants and tools, often requiring two workers for heavier items.
• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. (up to 120 lbs. with assistance) for planting tasks.
