About the position

The Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal EDD requirements at First United Bank. This role involves assessing customer risk, conducting thorough investigations, and producing financial intelligence through detailed research and analysis. The EDD Analyst plays a crucial role in promoting a risk-aware culture and ensuring effective risk management practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Promote a risk-aware culture and ensure compliance with risk management practices.
• Utilize advanced investigative techniques to perform Enhanced Due Diligence on customers.
• Conduct investigative research on individuals and entities related to customers.
• Communicate with internal and external entities regarding due diligence investigations.
• Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to gather additional information for investigations.
• Review documentation to identify and mitigate KYC risks for existing customers.
• Perform complex investigations to identify ultimate beneficial owners for KYC purposes.
• Draft assessment summaries and written investigative products to support decision-making.
• Train new employees on current procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of Banking/Compliance experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology or Finance/Banking/Business preferred.
• ACAMS and/or CFE Certifications or willingness to obtain within two years.
• Knowledge of federal BSA/AML regulations required.
• Familiarity with general bank operations.
