About The Position

Recruitment for a full-time instructor to teach in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program for adult students in the College and Career Readiness department at RCCC. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job Description Availability of teaching hours varies between 20 and 25 hours weekly and may be combined with non-instructional duties. This position is an in-person teaching position that can be moved online, possibly if the college requires it. Provide effective instruction to students online and/or in the classroom by preparing for each learning experience, providing supplemental materials to enhance textbooks and lessons, and using effective evaluation methods to measure student performance. Ensure teaching and working environment (classroom, lab) by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, and functionality. Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, testing records, documentation for accreditation, etc.) and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines. Teach and develop the English speaking, reading, and writing skills of our adult ESL students. Learn all policies and procedures of the department and abide by them. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, ESL, or a related field
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse students and learning styles.
• Experience with technology and the use of educational software and online tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Creativity and innovation in teaching methods and materials.
