Responsibilities

  • Provides Engineering support to the Maintenance and Manufacturing groups to troubleshoot, and improve/maximize the performance of equipment and processes.
  • Electrical – Troubleshoots automation equipment through PLC, servo, robotics, HMI/MMI, and related process control and automation systems.
  • Mechanical – Troubleshoots mechanical equipment associated with automation and manufacturing processes.
  • Manages medium scope projects from inception to completion.
  • Keeps Engineering and Manufacturing Management informed of progress.
  • Installs, validates and put into production equipment modifications and capital projects.
  • Performs hardware/software modifications, and documents system functional specification updates while adhering to documentation and change control requirements.
  • Electrical - Prepares standard operating procedures for new and existing automation and process control equipment.
  • Mechanical - Prepares standard operating procedures for new and existing mechanical equipment related to automation.
  • Manages the cost estimating of medium scoped process improvements and medium capital budget items as well as the spending of approved project funds.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • AA Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in related field.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong PLC controls troubleshooting/programming experience. Allen Bradley PLC5, SLC500, Logix5000 focus preferred.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills required.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Ability to read and develop mechanical/electrical schematics.
  • Strong computer skills with experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, CAD software, and MS Project or related software.
  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
  • Must have good English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members and leadership.
