About the position

The Engineering Technician position at ThermAvant Technologies LLC involves supporting the engineering team in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of custom thermal products. The role requires building and installing test fixtures, operating testing equipment, and ensuring quality assurance throughout the production process. The technician will also assist in maintaining laboratory standards and safety practices while communicating effectively with engineers and managers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, build, testing, and troubleshooting of custom thermal products.
  • Build and install test fixtures, instrumentation, and controls for functional tests.
  • Process parts through fluid processing, testing, final assembly, and shipping.
  • Operate testing equipment such as data acquisition systems, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Communicate progress and technical problems to engineers and managers.
  • Assist in planning requirements for fabricating, installing, testing, and servicing heat transfer assemblies and systems.
  • Maintain a quality laboratory setting by implementing standard practices.
  • Perform quality assurance tasks on in-process and final hardware per specifications.
  • Promote safety and good housekeeping practices.
  • Participate in inspections, audits, and resolving non-conformities.
  • Source and procure supplies, including requesting quotations and working with vendors.
  • Perform basic electrical wiring, instrumentation, and controls for various systems.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. Resident is a must.
  • Certificate or Degree from technical school in related field of study.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001:2008 or similar quality management procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Computer knowledge working with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to physically handle heavy materials greater than 50lbs when necessary.
  • Experience with basic electrical circuit theory and structural soldering.
  • Experience in laboratory testing in a controlled environment.
  • Troubleshooting and development of first-generation solutions.
  • Experience with fluid handling, including cryogenic and hazardous fluids.
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems and general metal fabrication using hand or manual tools.
