About the position

The Engineering Project Manager will oversee and manage engineering projects from initial approval through to production release and APQP approval. This role is crucial for ensuring projects adhere to scope, budget, and timeline while utilizing tools like Smartsheets for efficient tracking and communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from conception through completion to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Track project against plan, anticipate events which may require contingency plans, recommend corrective action, and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.
  • Determine resource involvement needed to complete the project and allocate resources as needed.
  • Translate the high-level organizational objectives into definable project scopes while focusing on regular and timely delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
  • Define and manage the project management processes, implement best practices, and champion ongoing process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing projects using formal project management disciplines and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and processes.
  • Experienced in Agile project management methodologies and tools.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in project management, specifically in the engineering domain.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Smartsheet, MS project, or similar project tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with gateway processes and their application in project management.
  • Strong understanding of project capital and cost management principles.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management.
  • PMP certified.
