About the position

As the Engineering Manager at Givaudan, you will lead the Engineering function at a site with complex industrial processes, focusing on maximizing plant availability and reliability. This role involves strategic planning, function management, and people management to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input to the local Operations business plan regarding engineering projects and production capacity.
  • Define Site Engineering annual targets and goals based on functional strategy and monitor their achievement.
  • Lead the Engineering team and contractors on various assignments within engineering.
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional Engineering functions for analysis and implementation of strategies.
  • Establish site master plans for Capex and engineering plans to meet internal customer requirements.
  • Identify and implement local Capex projects and manage routine engineering activities.
  • Apply best practices and continuous improvement programs to enhance processes and resource use.
  • Deliver engineering services through local projects and coordinate capital investments.
  • Ensure compliance of all assets with legal and company standards.
  • Implement Group Engineering programs and organize training for adherence to guidelines.
  • Maintain contact with local authorities and propose budgets for engineering and maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • Plant Engineering or Maintenance certification.
  • 7 to 10 years of overall work experience in manufacturing or plant operations.
  • 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in people management.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and in matrix organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and communications.
  • Understanding of process mapping and design.
  • Knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts like OPEX and CAPEX.
