We are actively seeking a highly experienced machine learning engineering manager to lead our object detection team. Responsibilities
- Taking the charge on delivery of machine learning algorithms for pixel-level road and lane interpretation of image data.
- Training machine learning models.
- Supervise data deliveries and data distributions of the team.
- Reviewing training artifacts and understanding verification results of model trainings.
- Collaborates with other management and teams as needed to meet goals, monitor team performance, and achieve objectives.
- Responsible for understanding the software or system technical domain of their assigned team.
- Accountable and responsible for career development and coaching of the team.
- Accountable and responsible for performance management of their team.
- Accountable and responsible for ensuring continuous performance feedback is delivered and compensation analysis in close collaboration with peer managers and People Operations.
- Responsible for managing a team with existing system and/or defined strategy.
- Leads a team of engineers that are tasked with building or solving difficult machine learning problems.
- Responsible for the quality of work, accuracy, record keeping, standards and ensuring a basic level of compliance.
- Responsive to others and able to effectively collaborate to meet established standards, compliance requirements, implementation, and service delivery schedules.
- Demonstrated functional knowledge of business area and demonstrates results of ongoing learning and professional development.
- Ability to effectively manage people and identify opportunities to develop staff experience and expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence or related field with 6+ years of professional experience or a master's degree with 4+ years of experience.
- Scientific understanding of machine learning for robotics perception.
- Experience with training machine learning models.
- Experience with understanding data distribution.
- Mastery of Python and Pytorch, with the ability to transition research level code to production and deployment ready standards.
- Project Management experience in machine learning projects.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Phd in machine learning or data science.
- Experience with relevant NVIDIA libraries and frameworks, such as CUBLAS, CuDNN, and NPP.
