About the position

The Engineering Manager at Juniper Hotel Cupertino is responsible for overseeing the functionality and safety of the hotel’s facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems. This role involves managing a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating maintenance and repairs to provide exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises programs involving electrical, mechanical, and general construction, repair, and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment.
  • Assigns, supervises, and verifies completion of routine maintenance and operation of the physical structure of the hotel, including all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Visually inspects quality of work and assigns staff and directs outside contractors in tasks according to performance and productivity standards.
  • Hires, disciplines, counsels, and trains engineering staff.
  • Communicates effectively with city officials to ensure proper maintenance of permits and licenses, coordinating inspections with the appropriate department.
  • Acts as a liaison between the hotel and vendors to review the latest in hotel technology and products.
  • Attends engineering conventions to educate staff.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in engineering management within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with city officials and contractors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing situations.
