About the position

The Special Projects Division of KPFF is seeking an ambitious Civil Transportation Engineer to join their team in Seattle or Tacoma, WA. This role focuses on heavy civil and industrial infrastructure projects, emphasizing roadway and transportation improvements, project management, and client service. Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering expertise to diverse civil projects, collaborating with teams to devise innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to projects involving waterfront and industrial developments, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, understanding regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Identify and overcome challenges using innovative problem-solving approaches.
  • Assist in managing project tasks, coordinating timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Mentor team members to support their professional growth and development.
  • Foster strong client relationships through clear communication and customized solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Minimum 4 years of full-time experience in civil/site development engineering design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and advanced MicroStation, InRoads, and Openroads design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and techniques.
  • Experience in preparing roadway/transportation design documents and specifications.
  • Familiarity with WSDOT Standard Plans and Standard Specifications and Design Manual.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other engineering design software.
  • Additional experience on waterfront and industrial site infrastructure.
