About the position

The Transport Engineer position involves managing and implementing transport systems for In Building and Venue projects, focusing on both 4G LTE and 5G network infrastructures. The role requires collaboration with local markets to design and implement transport technologies, manage project timelines, and ensure optimal performance of the network. The position is hybrid, allowing for both remote work and office days, and is contract-based with a competitive hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement all equipment and infrastructure supporting In Building and Venue projects including ISP, EBH, and Microwave transport systems.
• Collaborate with local markets on designing and implementing transport technologies for 5G network rollout and support existing 4G LTE infrastructure.
• Utilize an internal database to document all fiber assets and design end-to-end circuit paths.
• Develop and maintain circuit delivery schedules for each project and manage vendors to meet deliverables.
• Run utilization reports to evaluate capacity and issue design changes for optimal performance of networks.
• Work with Network planning on strategic initiatives for future technology solutions.
• Collaborate with other network groups to ensure projects meet demands in support of company objectives.
• Manage capital spending monthly to align with forecasted spend and project timelines.
• Complete transport-related milestones using engineering tools such as Conquest, Granite, FUZE, etc.
• Provide technical expertise in IP assignment and understand ISP and EBH specifications.
• Analyze cost and time for different backhaul solutions to deliver high-quality service for Business Customers.

Requirements

• More than 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Construction and Transport management experience.
• Prior experience as a Transport or Interconnect Engineer with Wireless or One Fiber Experience.
• Transport experience including ISP, EBH, Microwave, Inside, and Outside Plant.
• Experience with office computer applications: Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Experience in designing, ordering, managing, and delivering Fronthaul and Backhaul Circuits.
