About The Position

Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Engineer, Packaging Design Engineering to be based in Raynham, Mass. Purpose: The Package Development Engineer provides technical expertise in the areas of design, development, testing and production scale-up of new packaging components and systems. They work with guidance of Senior/Staff Packaging Development leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent Technical Degree required.
  • 2 – 4 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of packaging material characteristics and validation practices.
  • Experience in plastic component design, development and qualification.
  • Previous Experience in the areas of Design for Manufacturing or Assembly.
  • Experience working and communicating with internal and external partners, including vendors and suppliers of direct materials and services.
  • Technical writing skills required to include protocols, engineering studies, procedures, project status & special reports.
  • English language fluency

Nice To Haves

  • Statistical Analysis knowledge preferred (Six Sigma).
  • Experience in packaging, medical device or other regulated industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of process DOE’s, GR&R, IQ/OQ/PQ, Fishbone, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience in quality engineering activities such as FMEA, CAPA, and NC preferred.
  • Knowledge of In Process Control preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in process improvement, quality improvement, cost improvement, change control or task teams.
  • Participates and advises in decisions involving equipment, package design, and source reduction.
  • Packaging leader for assigned NPI and LCM projects with moderate supervision.
  • Researches and catalogs packaging methods and techniques and recommends adaptations to meet variations.
  • Builds technical competencies in packaging materials and processes used in all manufacturing processes.
  • Participates and provides technical expertise for risk assessment and compliance assurance programs.
  • Assures accurate and true records are reflected in the PLM systems.
  • Assures delivery of robust, cost effective, fully compliant packaging solutions that meet current and evolving customer's needs.
  • Knows and follows all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintains the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned.
