About The Position

HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a seasoned, highly skilled Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join one of our valued client partners. We are seeking an ambitious engineering professional who is eager to apply classroom knowledge in real-world environments while developing the technical, operational, and leadership skills necessary for long-term success. This opportunity is designed for individuals who want hands-on exposure to engineering evaluations, field investigations, project execution, and direct mentorship from experienced engineering leaders. The successful candidate will gain practical engineering experience while building a clear path toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and future leadership responsibilities. The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) will support engineering evaluations, field inspections, project execution activities, and technical documentation while working closely with senior engineering professionals. This role combines engineering analysis, field-based learning, and operational exposure within active construction and engineering environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification or actively pursuing EIT certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in practical, field-based engineering applications.
  • Ability to work effectively within engineering and construction environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to participate in site visits, inspections, and field investigations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites and in physically demanding environments.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • No current or future visa sponsorship requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience within engineering, construction, or field operations environments.
  • Exposure to structural engineering, construction engineering, or building systems.
  • Experience reading engineering plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with engineering software platforms and design tools.
  • Experience supporting engineering evaluations or field investigations.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Demonstrated employment stability and commitment to long-term career development.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with engineering evaluations of residential and commercial structures.
  • Participating in site visits, inspections, and field investigations.
  • Supporting the preparation of engineering reports, documentation, and technical recommendations.
  • Learning applied engineering methodologies under the supervision of licensed engineers.
  • Assisting with structural observations, condition assessments, and engineering analysis.
  • Coordinating with field personnel to support successful project execution.
  • Supporting quality control and engineering compliance activities.
  • Assisting with project scheduling, material coordination, and operational workflows.
  • Participating in active construction and engineering job site activities.
  • Developing practical engineering skills through hands-on project involvement.
  • Supporting engineering leadership with technical and operational initiatives.
  • Contributing to project documentation and engineering record management.
