We are seeking a strong Engineering candidate that will join the Power Delivery Diagnostic Center team - a 24/7 operations support group. The PDDC is responsible for supporting field operations and control center teams for all of Power Delivery in the safe and effective restoration of the grid. The PDDC Engineer performs remote diagnostics, data analysis, maintenance, and settings implementation on FPL smart grid devices. PDDC Engineers work closely with business unit subject matter experts and technology development teams to ideate and develop new applications and tools to monitor, alert, and mitigate conditions and improve reliability of our Transmission, Substation and Distribution equipment fleet.
Responsibilities
- Perform remote diagnostics on FPL smart grid devices.
- Conduct data analysis and maintenance.
- Implement settings on smart grid devices.
- Collaborate with business unit subject matter experts.
- Work with technology development teams to develop new applications and tools.
- Monitor and alert on conditions affecting reliability.
- Mitigate issues to improve reliability of Transmission, Substation, and Distribution equipment.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and collaboration skills including root cause analysis.
- System and application aptitude.
- Knowledge of Generation, Transmission, and/or Distribution systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal).
