About the position

The role focuses on optimizing factory-level solutions to help customers reduce their environmental footprint and utility costs, with an emphasis on heat recovery, energy balance, water management, and CIP optimization. Key responsibilities include analyzing customer needs, obtaining and interpreting data, identifying sustainable design alternatives, and presenting solutions alongside the sales team. The position involves calculations with uncertainties and benefits from experience in high-temperature heat pump and boiler integration or refrigeration plant engineering. Collaboration is essential, particularly with the Project Organization, market operations, and Services teams, especially during the pre-project phase.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the data available and identify different alternatives for a sustainable plant design for each new opportunity.
  • Collaborate and interact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure necessary data is obtained and customer needs are understood.
  • Make necessary calculations and engineering to offer a sustainable plant design solution, including heat recovery and energy balance, Sankey diagrams, and pinch analysis.
  • Understand the role of industrial heat pumps and solar thermal solutions or water recovery solutions and select the right solution based on customer needs.
  • Develop and present a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) based on the sustainable plant design solution for the specific customer.
  • Provide input and ideas on improving offers on energy optimization, water recovery, and CIP optimization on plant level.
  • Meet with customers and represent the Factory Sustainable Solutions organization when needed.
  • Participate in maintaining and improving adequate application tools.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent in Sustainable Energy engineering or similar work experience.
  • Experience in engineering and process design of refrigeration and/or heat pump plant.
  • Experience in performing energy assessments in industrial applications.
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience in engineering and calculations of energy saving solutions in industrial applications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Fluent English language knowledge.
