Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and cultivate potential clients through proactive outreach, cold calling, and leveraging networking opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, develop long-term partnerships and ensure customer satisfaction and renewals.
  • Client Consultations: Meet with clients to understand their energy needs, risk tolerance, and identify how 5 can best serve them.
  • Continuously Learning: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Sales Presentations: Compose and deliver compelling sales presentations, effectively communicating the benefits of energy products and services to potential clients.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Skillfully address client concerns and objections, with the ultimate goal of closing sales and achieving revenue targets.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and align sales strategies with overall business goals.
  • CRM Management: Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to track leads, manage accounts, and optimize the sales process for efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years’ experience in the energy industry (retail gas and/or electricity, sustainability, solar, demand response, etc.) or an industry that easily translates.
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B outside sales.
  • Experience identifying new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and other channels.
  • Ability to succeed with a high level of autonomy while embracing a team-oriented sales process.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively within a team, yet independently drive sales initiatives.
  • Ambition, passion, teamwork, and grit.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
