About the position

The Lead Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) for the Endocrinology Team at ChristianaCare is responsible for overseeing clinical and administrative functions within the department. This role involves providing medical management to patients with endocrine disorders while also supporting advanced practice clinicians through hiring, credentialing, performance management, and professional development. The position is primarily clinical, with a small portion dedicated to administrative tasks, allowing for a balance between patient care and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical management to Endocrinology patients at Newark and Springside practices.
  • Support advanced practice clinicians in hiring, credentialing, and performance management.
  • Conduct onboarding and professional development for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Allocate time for administrative and non-patient facing tasks, which can be done remotely.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing or completion of a Physician Assistant program.
  • Board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an advanced practice clinician.
  • License or license eligible in the State of Delaware.
  • BLS certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Metabolic Health/Endocrinology preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.
