About the position
The Lead Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) for the Endocrinology Team at ChristianaCare is responsible for overseeing clinical and administrative functions within the team. This role involves providing medical management to patients with endocrine disorders while also supporting the professional development and operational needs of advanced practice clinicians. The position is primarily clinical, with a small portion dedicated to administrative tasks, allowing for a balanced approach to patient care and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Devote 80% - 90% of time to clinical responsibilities and 10% - 20% to administrative tasks.
- Provide medical management to Endocrinology patients at Newark and Springside practice locations.
- Support hiring, credentialing, performance management, onboarding, and professional development of advanced practice clinicians.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for advanced practice clinicians.
- Allocate 4 hours per week for administrative tasks and 4 hours for non-patient facing time, which can be done remotely.
Requirements
- Completion of a master's degree program and board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse or completion of a Physician Assistant program and board certification as a Physician Assistant.
- At least 2 years of experience as an advanced practice clinician; prior experience in Metabolic Health/Endocrinology preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator is preferred.
- License or license eligible in the State of Delaware.
- BLS certification required.
