About the position

The EMT-Paramedic at BioLife Plasma Services plays a crucial role in supporting plasma center operations by ensuring donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and providing medical support under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and Center Physician. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of customer service and quality in plasma collection, contributing to the production of life-changing medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
  • Manage donor adverse reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies.
  • Refer to the Center Physician for unacceptable findings or medical guidance.
  • Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program.
  • Currently licensed or certified as an EMT-Paramedic in the state of assignment.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
