About the position

As an Employee Relations Partner at eBay, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive HR support to our global workforce. This position focuses on resolving complex employee relations issues, offering guidance on performance management, compliance, and conflict resolution, while ensuring a stellar HR experience for employees and managers alike.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and advice to managers on performance management and corrective action processes.
  • Conduct internal investigations and advise on employee complaints and grievances, recommending solutions and facilitating resolutions.
  • Offer jurisdictionally appropriate legal advice and interpretation on employment legislation, handling involuntary employee terminations.
  • Support managers and employees through departmental restructuring activities in partnership with People Business Partners.
  • Assist with complicated leave of absence, ADA, and FMLA situations, ensuring a consistent approach to employees and leaders.
  • Participate in various projects across the People Experience team, recommending process improvements and policy development.

Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in Human Resources within a global organization.
  • 5 or more years in Employee Relations, with specialist jurisdictional or functional expertise preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and practices, particularly in performance management, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and ERISA.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, with higher certification in Human Resource Management (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Demonstrated effective influencing skills to resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Experience leading multiple, concurrent, high-priority employee relations activities with a focus on service excellence.
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues and diagnose root causes through effective listening and inquiry.
  • Strong documentation skills along with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify trends, analyze issues, and communicate insights to influence change.

  • Experience working with remote teams preferred.
  • Proficient in coaching and developing manager capabilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset and troubleshooting skills.
