About the position

North Risk Partners is a fast-growing firm dedicated to serving the insurance and risk management needs of businesses and individuals. We provide expertise in Commercial Lines, Employee & Individual Benefits, Personal Lines, Surety, Claims, and Risk Management. Our team consists of over 450 employees working in over 30 locations across five states, including Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. This position is responsible for managing the relationships and day-to-day service requests associated with employee benefits accounts to support the producing risk advisor. Associate Account Managers work under the supervision of the account management team servicing accounts and will progressively increase his/her responsibilities to become an account manager, who independently services client accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through advising and responding to all correspondence in a quick and accurate manner.
  • Answer questions regarding all lines of coverage, and assist with plan and/or carrier changes, claims, and billing.
  • Collaborate with Risk Advisors to determine and meet client goals.
  • Work under the supervision of the Account Management team to develop insurance solutions for current clients.
  • Review policies to ensure information and coverages are accurate.
  • Evaluate and prepare renewal comparisons and policy proposals.
  • Communicate and educate clients on policies as needed.
  • Coordinate external (e.g. carrier) and internal (e.g. agency management software systems) implementations of new groups as necessary.
  • Enter activity and other relevant information into the agency management system in accordance with company processes and procedures.
  • Resolve inquiries on service problems to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Promote and implement value-added services available through North Risk Partners.
  • Attend and actively participate in agency service training meetings.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner insurance carriers.
  • Continue professional development; pursue and maintain professional designations if applicable.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school degree, bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 2 years in the employee benefits insurance space.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain an insurance license.
  • Demonstrated success in customer service.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
