About the position

The Account Manager at HUB International plays a crucial role in supporting the Producer by managing day-to-day business needs and ensuring seamless communication between clients and the service team. This position is essential for maintaining client relationships, handling escalated issues, and ensuring timely execution of tasks related to employee benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the planning calendar and renewal timeline to ensure timely handling of census requests, client follow-ups, carrier follow-ups, sending RFPs, preparing presentations, and other necessary items.
  • In coordination with the Producer, prepares spreadsheets, PowerPoints, and contribution scenarios for client presentations, ensuring accuracy and logical organization of information.
  • Assists clients with escalated claims, billing, and policy issues, documenting all interactions in Benefit Point.
  • Analyzes and researches ongoing plan evaluations, reviewing client renewals with the Producer to assist in the recommendation process.
  • Attends client meetings with the Producer to establish working relationships and conducts employee benefit educational meetings for clients.
  • Ensures smooth implementation and transition processes for all carrier changes, communicating and documenting major issues and changes.
  • Stays informed about changes in employee benefits, sharing knowledge with clients and participating in training opportunities to maintain professional designations.
  • Keeps the team informed about client issues, renewals, and proactive work, promoting engagement and building good working relationships.
  • Acts as the client's advocate with carriers and vendors, always prioritizing the client's best interests.
  • Updates and maintains documentation of renewal plan information in Agencyware, client files, and spreadsheet templates.
  • Acts as a mentor for Internal Service Representatives, assisting in their growth and development.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefit plans, including HMOs, PPOs, HSAs, indemnity plans, and ancillary coverage such as life, disability, dental, and voluntary insurances.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience in benefits, finance, or human resources preferred.
  • An earned Louisiana Life and Health license.
