About the position

The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at RiverStone Health is responsible for planning and coordinating the organization's preparedness for public health emergencies. This role involves strategic consultation, research, communication, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective responses to threats such as infectious diseases, natural disasters, and other emergencies. The coordinator will also participate in training and community engagement activities to enhance public health readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities for RiverStone Health.
  • Provide strategic and technical consultation for emergency preparedness planning and management.
  • Participate in strategic planning and special project development.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emergency preparedness issues and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Prepare and review communication materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Identify and address potential issues in emergency preparedness activities.
  • Monitor legislative trends to guide emergency preparedness development.
  • Participate in public health and emergency preparedness conferences.
  • Assist in developing work plans and budgets for emergency preparedness grants.
  • Conduct regular communication about emergency preparedness activities.
  • Represent the agency in various committees and boards related to emergency preparedness.
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations and health providers.
  • Respond to citizen inquiries regarding emergency preparedness.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness training and exercises.
  • Train staff on required NIMS/ICS courses.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in emergency preparedness and/or public health.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in public health or related field.
  • Medical terminology training or experience.
  • Experience working with underserved populations.
