About the position

Carle Health is seeking additional BE/BC Emergency Medicine physicians to join our quality-oriented department at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. The department is stable with 45 members, all of whom are ABEM/AOBEM certified, seeing 92,000 patients per year. The department also includes 25 Advanced Practice Providers. You have the choice of working at a Level I Trauma Center, a nearby critical access hospital with 10,000 visits, or a combination of the two. There is 24-hour in-house coverage provided by Anesthesia, Intensivists, Trauma, OB/GYN, ED, and 50 Hospitalists; In-house Pediatric Hospitalists and PICU are available 24/7. There is an excellent benefits package that includes health/dental/life insurance, a 403-B plan with employer match, LTD, relocation allowance, CME allowance, and paid malpractice insurance with tail insurance coverage. Additionally, there is an opportunity to do ultrasound as well as teaching/research through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, if desired. Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency medical care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals including nurses, advanced practice providers, and specialists.
  • Participate in teaching and research opportunities through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
  • Utilize ultrasound in patient care as needed.
  • Ensure high-quality patient care and safety standards are met.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Illinois.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching or research in a medical setting.
  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of emergency medicine.
  • Interest in ultrasound applications in emergency medicine.
