Emergency Medical Dispatcher
About The Position
This position reports to the Commander/Manager of Regional Communications and in his/her absence the Communications Superintendent/Deputy. The roles and responsibilities include working in concert with call-evaluators and communication deployment specialists, while working within the EMD scope of practice. This employee will provide IFT processing, emergency medical dispatching, pre-arrival instructions and deployment of emergency vehicles in emergent and non-emergent situations. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"
Requirements
- Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification
- Grade 12
- Certification as a Basic Telecommunicator with the Association of Public Safety
- Current CPR Level C
- Minimum typing (keyboarding) speed of 40 wpm.

- HSAS seniority in the SHA will be considered under the selection criteria
