About The Position

The ELL Instruction Assistant will serve as a resource for all district schools, providing support to English Language Learner (ELL) students. This role involves interpreting between English and Spanish, utilizing Spanish literacy skills to aid in English acquisition and curriculum access, and assisting with translating written correspondence. The assistant will work under the direction of the ELL Coordinator with students across the district as needed and is expected to have strong clerical skills, including word processing and data entry.

Requirements

Oregon State Seal of Biliteracy (OSSB)
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to interpret accurately between English and Spanish in a conversational setting.
Ability to use Spanish literacy (both reading and writing) skills to support ELL students in English acquisition and access to the core curriculum.
Ability to accurately assist with translating written correspondence between school and home.
Ability to work under the direction of the ELL Coordinator with students across the district on an as-needed basis.
Fingerprinting required.
