About The Position

St. Paul’s Lutheran School is hiring a full time Elementary Teacher in our supportive PK-6th grade environment in Waverly, Iowa. We are seeking an outgoing, passionate and dedicated teacher that values the importance of faith and has the ability to engage students in a collaborative classroom community. Knowledge about MTSS, technology integration, Science of Reading, Everyday Math, Collaborative Classroom and Mystery Science helpful, but not required. St. Paul’s is fully accredited with the Iowa Department of Education and follows the Iowa Core. As an Elementary Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of young students and fostering their love for learning. You will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging classroom environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. St. Paul’s Lutheran School provides a faith-based education rooted in the Gospel, a sense of belonging and community, and an opportunity for Christian service. Students in Preschool through Grade 6 are immersed in academic excellence in a personalized learning environment. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required)
Teaching certification or license (required)
Knowledge of education principles and practices
Familiarity with learning technologies and their integration into the classroom
Experience working with students with various needs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to provide tutoring or additional support to students as needed
Knowledge of education administration and policies

Nice To Haves

Knowledge about MTSS, technology integration, Science of Reading, Everyday Math, Collaborative Classroom and Mystery Science helpful, but not required.
Experience working with Elementary school students (preferred)

Responsibilities

Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth
Use a variety of teaching methods and learning technologies to accommodate different learning styles
Assess student progress through regular evaluations, tests, and assignments
Provide individualized instruction to students who require additional support or have special needs
Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and administrators to create a comprehensive educational program
Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages respect, cooperation, and active participation
Utilize effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning environment
Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns
