About the position
The Elementary Teacher for Second Grade at Edmonson Elementary School is responsible for providing a comprehensive educational experience for students, focusing on their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. The teacher will create and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and utilize data-driven instruction to enhance student learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement lesson plans for second-grade students.
- Utilize student data to drive instruction across all subject areas.
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of students in various classroom settings.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, students, and parents.
- Maintain a reliable and punctual attendance record.
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to schedule changes.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate.
- Knowledge of elementary student expectations including academic, social, emotional, and behavioral milestones.
- Experience or knowledge of Reading, Writing, and Math Workshop models.
- Strong commitment to educating students.
- Ability to create lesson plans and implement instructional strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.).
- Functional knowledge of internet use for search platforms.
