About the position

The Elementary School Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing a flexible program and classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. This role involves developing lesson plans, establishing effective rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivating students to develop essential skills and knowledge. The teacher will assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and create a conducive learning environment while adhering to the school's educational philosophy and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth.
• Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines.
• Establish effective rapport with students, staff members, and parents.
• Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge for effective educational foundation.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and differentiated instruction to meet student needs.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records.
• Assess student strengths and weaknesses and provide appropriate activities to address needs.
• Coordinate class field trips as required.
• Prepare students for state-required achievement assessments.
• Communicate clearly and positively with parents and guardians.

Requirements

• Valid Teaching Certification license.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• 1 year of teaching experience preferred.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Student Information Systems (SIS).
• Knowledge of Individual Education Plans (IEP).
