About The Position

Empowerment Academy Charter School is seeking a Lead Elementary School Teacher to cover a maternity leave for approximately 5 months, starting in the 2026/2027 School Year. The position offers the possibility of transitioning into a Staff Sub role after the leave period. Requirements

NJ DOE K-6 Certification is required.
CE/CEAS/Standard Certification is required.
Must possess a NJ Department of Education CE, CEAS or Standard Elementary School Teacher License.
Must have K-6 certification, not P-3.
Candidates who do not possess the required NJDOE certification cannot be hired.

Responsibilities

Cover a maternity leave for an Elementary School Teacher for approximately 5 months.
Transition into a Staff Sub role after the leave period.
Provide quality education to students.
Collaborate with peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems.
Partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.
Utilize a research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials.
Administer high-quality formative assessments to identify student mastery.
Work with full-time reading and math specialists to support students struggling with essential skills.
Collaborate with counselors and social workers to support students with non-academic problems.
