About The Position

Empowerment Academy Charter School is seeking a Lead Elementary School Teacher to cover a maternity leave for approximately 5 months, starting in the 2026/2027 School Year. The position offers the possibility of transitioning into a Staff Sub role after the leave period. Requirements

  • NJ DOE K-6 Certification is required.
  • CE/CEAS/Standard Certification is required.
  • Must possess a NJ Department of Education CE, CEAS or Standard Elementary School Teacher License.
  • Must have K-6 certification, not P-3.
  • Candidates who do not possess the required NJDOE certification cannot be hired.

Responsibilities

  • Cover a maternity leave for an Elementary School Teacher for approximately 5 months.
  • Transition into a Staff Sub role after the leave period.
  • Provide quality education to students.
  • Collaborate with peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems.
  • Partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.
  • Utilize a research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials.
  • Administer high-quality formative assessments to identify student mastery.
  • Work with full-time reading and math specialists to support students struggling with essential skills.
  • Collaborate with counselors and social workers to support students with non-academic problems.
