About the position

The Elementary School Counselor plays a crucial role in supporting the academic success of students by developing and managing a comprehensive school counseling program. This program is designed to be preventative and developmental, aligning with national, state, and local standards as well as the specific needs of the school. The counselor will deliver, manage, and evaluate services based on the American School Counseling Association’s National Model, acting as a leader, advocate, collaborator, and agent of systemic change to support the diverse needs of all students.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive school counseling program.
  • Plan, design, and implement counseling services aligned with educational standards.
  • Deliver and evaluate counseling services using the ASCA National Model.
  • Act as a leader and advocate for students' academic, career, and personal/social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community resources to support student needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
  • Valid state certification as a school counselor.
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
