About the position

The Electronic Security System (ESS) Integrator role involves assisting in the design, configuration, and operation of electronic security systems and other low voltage control sub-systems. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met, including the development of design documents, troubleshooting, and providing training documentation for system operation.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the design and configuration of electronic security systems and building control systems as defined by the contract documents.
• Assist with the development of Bill of Materials (BOM) and procurement of ESS equipment to include servers, workstations and network switches.
• Complete ESS system Pre-Installation and Test Check-Out (PITCO).
• Travel to site and complete final ESS system programming and testing and include CFT, PVT and Endurance test as required.
• Assists in the development and testing plans from vendor related manuals and installation instructions necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
• Assists in the coordination and creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
• Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
• Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
• May provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
• Keeps management and customer informed of job progress and issues.
• Assists in developing site-specific training documentation for owner/operator on specific installed systems.
• Participates in release meeting with project field team.
• Adheres to safety standards with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

Requirements

• Must live in/near Huntsville, Alabama.
• Must be willing to travel 30% of time on-projects.
• Minimum five (5) years of technical experience in ESS systems.
• Experience with IT and windows programming and testing.
• Experience and knowledge of VSS, Client, IDS, mass notification, and building automation systems is highly desired.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and auto CADD or similar software.
• Must be accountable and adaptable, with the ability to handle a frequently changing environment and take responsibility for one's work.
• Excellent decision making, delegation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to maintain and manage strong working relationships with current and prospective clients and within the client organization.
• Ability to think and solve problems on the spot.

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum five (5) years of experience working with federal customers.
• OSHA 30 Certification and First Aid CPR.
• Familiarity with the Army Corps of Engineers work process.
• Ability to learn SGT proprietary software tools.
