About the position

The Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist I is responsible for performing electroneurodiagnostic tests independently as ordered by a physician. This role involves patient care activities, including gathering medical histories, explaining testing procedures, and preparing patients for diagnostic tests. The technologist will monitor patients during testing and report findings to physicians for further analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electroneurodiagnostic tests independently when ordered by a physician.
  • Gather patient's medical history and explain testing procedures.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures.
  • Monitor patients during diagnostic testing.
  • Report findings to the physician for further analysis.

Requirements

  • Experience with patient care in neurodiagnostics.
  • Successful completion of the web-based Neurodiagnostic Technology program through the Institute of Health Sciences (IOHS) or graduate of an accredited electroneurodiagnostic program or REEGT registry eligible through ABRET and three years of experience as an EEG Tech.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association within three months of hire.
  • Obtain Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) Certification awarded by the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation within three years of hire if applicable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree in neurodiagnostics.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
