About the position

The position involves supervisory experience in managing and maintaining material handling systems. The candidate must demonstrate a strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and components, including drives, gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers, and other related equipment. Additionally, strong electrical skills are required, including wiring, AC power, AC motors, electrical drawing and schematics, and control panels. Knowledge and experience with controls components such as servo drives, PLC, PC controllers, DC power supplies, and optical devices (e.g., encoders, photo eyes) are highly prized. This role is located at a customer site in Salt Lake City, UT.

Responsibilities

  • Track and measure Key Performance Indicators and Fault Data, evaluate and analyze the data, and implement and direct improvements.
  • Create reports and communication materials to demonstrate continuous improvement of maintenance and operations of material handling equipment.
  • Identify predictive maintenance repairs required to maintain system availability.
  • Assist the Resident Site Maintenance Manager with responsibilities including spare parts inventory management using Sprocket CMMS.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe manner and that all personnel practice safe work habits according to safety policies.
  • Provide daily, on-site communication with 3PL's warehouse operators and management personnel.
  • Oversee and coordinate building maintenance services, utilizing third-party service providers as needed.
  • Establish a process to handle emergency downs, including procedures for notifying management and resource call-in plans.
  • Maintain an effective, written technical escalation procedure and ensure compliance with Dematic's escalation protocol.
  • Support expansions, projects, and other changes as required.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • 5 years of demonstrated ability in a directly related field.
  • Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work groups and their support of related operations.
  • Understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
