About the position

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking an Electrician for our Cleveland, OH location. The position will be hired for either 2nd or 3rd shift based on a collective bargaining agreement. The Electrician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, constructing, testing, calibrating, adjusting, modifying replacement parts, and servicing all types of electrical and electronic equipment. This includes communication systems, radios, radio-controlled cranes, gauges, measuring devices, ultrasonic and fluidic equipment, VDTs, PLCs, microprocessors, numerical and programmable controllers, low and high voltage power distribution systems, rectifier equipment, and measuring and testing equipment. The role also involves diagnosing and correcting problems, performing preventative maintenance checks, and using PLCs and other microprocessor-based equipment for maintenance and troubleshooting. The Electrician will be expected to program robotic equipment, perform incidental welding, operate transportation and material handling equipment, and maintain organized work areas. Additionally, the role requires developing and improving safe work instructions and using computerized maintenance management systems to document work.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, design, construct, test, calibrate, adjust, modify replacement parts and service all types of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct problems and proactively seek elimination of wastes and failures.
  • Interface with design and engineering to assure efficient installations and repairs and maintain equipment documentation integrity.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance checks, inspections, and repairs.
  • Use PLCs, other microprocessor-based equipment, and computer software applications for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification.
  • Program robotic equipment and document modifications.
  • Perform required rigging and incidental welding.
  • Operate transportation and material handling equipment as required.
  • Organize and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment for clean, efficient, and orderly operations.
  • Develop, document, write, follow, and improve safe work instructions and procedures.
  • Use reliability tools and information systems to collect, document, and analyze data and equipment performance.
  • Use computerized maintenance management systems to write work orders, log work hours, document equipment condition and status, and requisition parts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must have either a Journeyman's card OR 4 years of applicable maintenance experience AND a qualifying score on an assessment administered by Howmet during the interview process.

Benefits

  • Base Wage: $41.85 /hr.
  • Additional Cost-of-Living Adjustment: $4.46 /hr.
  • 2nd shift differential: $0.47 /hr.
  • 3rd shift differential: $0.78 /hr.
  • Earn 1 week vacation after 6 months of employment.
