About the position

The Electrical Process Technician at Simplify Inventions LLC plays a vital role in supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of various electrical systems and components. This position is essential for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of production processes within the Michigan Can Lines team.

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical projects and maintenance of existing electrical systems
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to improve safety, quality, and production processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plant-wide electrical issues as they arise
  • Apply continuous improvement methods to enhance production quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation
  • Utilize statistical means to optimize and improve performance
  • Analyze process performance data and identify trends to reduce process variation
  • Participate and contribute to the achievement of department goals
  • Identify and solve chronic/repetitive problems and failures
  • Set-up, calibrate, and commission a wide variety of instrumentation that interfaces with automation & control systems
  • Troubleshoot and install facility power distribution and lighting services
  • Perform general electrical work and other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of 3 years' job-related experience
  • Understanding of safety procedures required to work on automation equipment in an industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge in electrical safety circuits/systems
  • Understanding of mathematical and electrical/electronic principles and theories
  • Experience with single and three-phase circuits and AC and DC motor and control circuits
  • Prior experience using hand, power, and diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Program functionality in ladder logic (preferred)
  • Automation knowledge (Preferably Rockwell) - Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Speed Drives, Human Machine Interface & hardware and software tools
  • Instrumentation knowledge including configuration and calibration
  • Industrial networking knowledge
  • Understanding of quality assurance principles
  • Ability to produce and interpret a range of technical documentation
  • Experience supporting the installation, commissioning, shut-down, start-up, and maintenance/service/support of a wide range of systems and devices
  • Ability to wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems
  • Prior experience operating equipment including forklift, scissor/boom lift, etc.
